A public meeting was held tonight to discuss concerns over the death of a man after a police drugs search in High Wycombe. It was organised by friends and family of Habib Ullah, 39, from Slough. Mr Ullah collapsed with breathing difficulties during a search of a car parked in Lee Court, Sharrow Vale, High Wycombe. Mr Ullah – who had been restrained by officers – died at Wycombe Hospital. The death is now being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

Tonight, at Green Street Youth and Community Centre in Desborough Street, members of Mr Ullah’s family spoke of their concerns over the circumstances of his death. Members of the community spoke of their own fears about the incident, and considered ways to address them.

Plans for a peaceful demonstration in Wycombe town centre next Saturday, August 9, were also discussed.
